Are their any plans to support hierarchical relationships with support for aggregate functions.. For example:
Company A District Z Area 5 Area 6 District X Area 9 Company B District Y Area 2 ...
Each of the lines above would be listed in the data table with totals (Area x lines would be detail rows) while District and Company lines would contain aggreggate rollup summaries of the areas. For reference, you can look at how Kendo-UI and ag-grid support hierarchies.
well crap... my sample formatting got scrodded when it saved my question.... :(

Thanks - yes we'd like to understand more about the need for the multi-level grouping, as we have heard another similar request. You should be able to perform aggregation.
I'll reach out directly to get more information.
Thanks, Aileen

Thanks for the response Randy... When looking at components, for use in projects, many times we have encountered 'grid' functionality (multi column grouping, tree views, blah).. We evaluate and try to use Predix where possible, so thought I would check.. I know the 'Grid' component 'space' is competitive and there are some open (and commercial) options with many years into them.. But wanted to check with to see if any plans kind of thing.. It certainly sounds like it is still evolving... Thanks again for your reply...

The new data-grid that is beta-launching tomorrow has the capability to "group" rows by a single column, I don't believe it supports multi-level grouping, and I don't think it has the ability to aggregate data at this time. Our TPM @aileen can reach out to you about your requirements as a possible enhancement to the data-grid functionality.
